FAQ

Droptimizer answers one question: which drop will give you the most DPS. It runs a real SimulationCraft simulation of your character against every item that can drop from the chosen source — raids, Mythic+ dungeons, Delves, PvP, the Catalyst and profession crafts — and ranks the results in a table, from the biggest best-in-slot upgrade down to items that would actually lower your damage. For raids you also get a per-boss summary, so you can see which encounters are worth farming.

Two steps. Load your character from the Armory by region, realm and name, or paste the /simc export from the SimulationCraft addon — the sim picks up your exact gear, talents, enchants, gems and item levels. Then choose a loot source with its difficulty and press Run Simulation: in a minute or two you get a full DPS ranking of every possible drop.

Yes — that is one of the main use cases. Pick the Dungeons source and a Vault level (+7–9 or +10) to sim exactly the item level of loot offered in your Great Vault, and compare the choices before you claim one. Enable “Include Socket from the Vault” with a preferred gem to also test every item with the bonus socket the Vault can add.

WoW has two ring slots and two trinket slots, so Droptimizer sims every ring and trinket in both positions, replacing each of your equipped items in turn. The two results usually differ — your equipped rings are not equally strong, and replacing the weaker one gives a bigger DPS gain. By default only the stronger position is shown; enable “Show all variants” on the results page to see both rows and decide which of your items to replace.

Yes. Crafted gear and some drops come with configurable or random secondary stats, so the sim needs to know which stats to build them with. In Simulation Items pick up to two preferred stats — crit, haste, mastery or versatility — and Droptimizer will test those items with exactly that combination (for example crit + haste for most single-target builds). A preferred gem works the same way: it fills empty sockets, and with “Include Socket from the Vault” every item is additionally tested with one bonus socket holding that gem.

Yes. WoW.gg Droptimizer runs the same SimulationCraft engine that powers Raidbots Droptimizer, right in your browser and completely free — no Discord premium and no paid queue priority. It covers raids, Mythic+ and Normal dungeons, Delves, world bosses, PvP vendors, the Catalyst and profession crafts.
