Armored Siege Kodo is an epic ground mount added in patch 10.1.5 of the Dragonflight expansion. It's a massive kodo clad in heavy battle armor with spikes and siege attachments. The mount is available through two paths: via the Trading Post for 1,500 Trader's Tender or through the Battle.net in-game shop as part of the Mighty Kodo Pack.
The description from the mount journal reads: "Only the strongest and most fearless kodo become living siege engines. Even the tallest wall cannot stop them for long." Visually, the mount stands out from standard kodos thanks to its reinforced armor, horns with metal plating, and a distinctive battle caparison. The Armored Siege Kodo features a unique galloping animation, different from other kodos.
You have two ways to get the Armored Siege Kodo.
If you've chosen the Trading Post route, you'll need 1,500 Trader's Tender. Here are the main sources of this currency.
Every month, the first time you log in you automatically receive 500 Trader's Tender. To collect them, visit the Trading Post and open the chest with the monthly bonus.
The Traveler's Log offers monthly tasks of varying difficulty. Each task rewards a certain amount of Trader's Tender. Completing the full Traveler's Log bar for the month grants up to 500 additional Tender in total.
Trader's Tender does not expire at the end of the month. You can save it over several months. With the monthly 500 Tender from logging in and active completion of Traveler's Log tasks, you'll accumulate 1,500 Tender in one and a half to two months.
Watch the rotation — the Armored Siege Kodo appears at the Trading Post periodically. Check the inventory at the beginning of each month or follow announcements on the official Blizzard website
Don't waste Trader's Tender — if you're set on this mount, don't spend Tender on lower-priority items. Plan your purchases in advance
Fill out the Traveler's Log — monthly tasks often overlap with your normal gameplay (dungeons, battlegrounds, quests). Completing them along the way speeds up currency accumulation
Compare both options — if you already have enough Trader's Tender, there's no need to buy the pack with real money. However, the shop pack includes the Mighty Hoof pet, which can't be obtained through the Trading Post
Character level — using the mount requires only level 10 and the basic riding skill. New characters will be able to ride the kodo almost immediately
Speed depends on skill — at low levels the mount provides a +60% movement speed bonus. Once you learn the "Apprentice Riding" skill at level 20, the speed increases to +100%
Check the in-game shop — sometimes the Mighty Kodo Pack is included in promotional discounts. If you plan to buy with real money, wait for a sale
