A Protection paladin is a tank who uses one-handed weapons (sword, axe) and a shield.

• Has crowd-control abilities (stuns, slows, mass spell interruptions)
• Boasts a large number of defensive abilities
• Features a raid aura that reduces incoming damage for all group members
• Has abilities to protect and heal allies
• Can gain complete immunity to damage, or immunity to physical/magical damage separately.

• Vulnerable to magical damage
• Requires strict adherence to ability rotation to manage Holy Power and use defensive abilities in a timely manner
• Relatively low single-target damage output.
