This is a ranged combatant whose primary stat is Intellect. The Affliction Warlock is a master of curses, diseases and Shadow magic, slowly and agonizingly draining the life force from its victims.
The defining feature of the specialization is managing multiple periodic damage effects and accumulating Soul Shards to cast powerful spells. The gameplay revolves around flawlessly maintaining damage-over-time effects on several targets at once and efficiently using burst damage windows.

Enchants and Gems
Leveling
Charge into mob packs, applying Agony and 
Corruption on the move.
Once you've gathered 5-7 targets, use 
Seed of Corruption.
Restore your Abyssal Demon's health with 
Drain Life, but don't forget to pick up the 
Infernal Beneficiary talent.
Useful Tips
Refresh your DoTs ("Agony", "Corruption") when less than 30% of their duration remains. This lets you add the new duration to the remaining time without losing a single damage tick.
For survivability, use 
Dark Pact nearly on cooldown and 
Healthstone together with 
Soulburn in a single macro.
Demonic Gateway — use it for repositioning.
Soulstone — in Mythic+, always keep one charge on the healer or tank (Combat Res).
In Mythic dungeons, run with the 
Summon Felhunter minion to interrupt spells.
Summon Darkglare — use it only when ALL of your core DoTs are applied to the target.
