Untainted Grove Crawler — How to Get the Mount
Untainted Grove Crawler — Mount Overview
Untainted Grove Crawler is a ground mount from the Midnight expansion that you can obtain in literally five minutes. No grinding, rare mobs, or weekly lockouts — just a small puzzle in the village of Fungara in the Harandar zone. The mount features a rich purple color scheme and mushroom armor, and its description reads: "Somehow, this grove crawler remained untainted by the horrors that swept through Fungara Village."
Why Get This Mount
- One of the simplest Midnight mounts — takes less than 5 minutes to obtain
- Requires no reputation, currency, or dungeon runs
- Unique mushroom model that is rarely seen among other players at the start of the expansion
- Counts toward the Treasures of Harandar achievement — completing it in full awards another mount, the Cheerful Chloroceros
- Available to all characters on the account immediately after obtaining
Requirements
- Character level 10 or higher
- Riding skill (Apprentice)
- Access to the Harandar zone — unlocked through the Midnight story campaign. Harandar is available as one of the leveling zones for levels 83–88. If you have already completed the campaign, simply fly to Fungara Village via Skyriding
No additional quest chains or reputation are needed for the mount itself.
How to Reach Fungara Village
Fungara Village is located in the southern part of Harandar. The easiest way to get there is by Skyriding from the nearest flight point. The coordinates of the village center are approximately 44, 63 on the Harandar map.
If you are just starting to level in Midnight, Harandar will open as you progress through the main storyline. For characters who have already completed the campaign, the zone is fully open.
Step-by-Step Guide
The entire process consists of three simple steps and requires no combat.
Step 1: Find the Fungal Mallet
First, head to the western part of Fungara Village. Near a fallen giant mushroom, by an orange door in a rocky alcove, lies a small object — the Fungal Mallet.
The mallet is small and easily lost among the surrounding mushrooms — look carefully. Right-click it to receive a buff of the same name lasting 5 minutes.
Step 2: Strike the Mycelium Gong
With the Fungal Mallet buff active, fly east in the village. Under a small pavilion with a red mushroom roof you will find the Mycelium Gong.
Click the gong while the mallet buff is still active. The distance between the mallet and the gong is short — even without Skyriding you will reach it well before the five minutes expire.
Step 3: Collect the Mount from the Sporespawned Cache
After striking the gong, a Sporespawned Cache will appear right next to it. Open it and collect the mount —
Untainted Grove Crawler.
The mount will immediately appear in your collection and be available to all characters on the account.
Tips and Useful Information
- Buff expired? No worries — return to the mallet and click it again. There are no limits on retaking the buff
- Gong not showing? A few players reported that sometimes you need to wait a few seconds or kill nearby mobs for the gong to become interactive
- Mount didn't arrive immediately? In rare cases the mount may arrive via in-game mail after a few minutes — check your mailbox
- Obtaining the cache counts toward the Treasures of Harandar achievement. There are 9 treasures total in Harandar, and collecting all nine awards an additional mount — the Cheerful Chloroceros
- Each treasure found grants 50 reputation points with the Hara'ti faction
Other Quick Midnight Mounts
If you enjoyed the "mount in 5 minutes" format, Midnight has several more similar mounts obtainable through simple open-world treasure puzzles — no reputation grinding, raid lockouts, or complicated RNG. Check out the other Harandar treasures, each of which contains useful rewards.
