Fouren has been playing World of Warcraft for over 15 years. He is an active player with 12 Cutting Edge achievements under his belt, and has reached the top 1% and 0.1% multiple times on various classes. His main classes are healers, particularly Holy Paladin.
This is a healer whose primary stat is Intellect. The Restoration Shaman uses the power of water and life to restore the health of allies. As a weapon they wield a one-handed weapon (mace or dagger) and a shield, which makes them one of the most well-protected healers in the game.
A defining feature of the specialization is the
Mastery: Deep Healing mechanic. Your healing effectiveness scales directly with how low the target's health is — the lower an ally's HP, the stronger your spells become.
Tidal Waves is a passive effect that you gain after casting
Riptide. It reduces the cast time of
Healing Surge or increases the critical chance of
Healing Wave.
Healing Stream Totem and Cloudburst Totem are your main tools for passive and stored healing. Skilful use of Cloudburst Totem lets you "record" your healing and release it the moment the group takes heavy damage.
Don't forget to explore our class pages, where not only the best items in the slot are available, but also other alternatives for any class, spec or situation:
When leveling as Restoration, most of your damage comes from
Flame Shock and
Lava Burst. Don't forget to use
Healing Tide Totem when pulling larger groups of mobs.
Ancestral Guidance lets you cast while moving. Use it during movement-heavy phases.
Spirit Link Totem ignores healing-reduction effects because it redistributes current health instead of healing it.
You are the only healer that can interrupt casts (
Wind Shear). Help your group!
