Devourer Demon Hunter PvE Guide — Midnight
About
The Devourer Demon Hunter is a mid-range fighter who wields two one-handed warglaives. The class has massive burst damage in both single-target and AoE, excellent mobility, and a simple rotation.
Strengths
- Excellent damage in both single-target and AoE.
- A simple rotation that lets you quickly grasp the class and put up good numbers.
- Has AoE crowd control and a raid-wide damage immunity.
- High survivability thanks to strong self-healing, reduced magic damage taken, and two charges of
Blur
Weaknesses
- Heavily reliant on its burst ability (Metamorphosis). Without it, the class's damage is mediocre.
- Has spells with long cast times, and canceling them can cost a large amount of damage.
- You must constantly position correctly and react to spells.

Leveling
From the very first level you will already have abilities to deal damage. Your main abilities at early levels will be
Void Blade,
The Hunt, and
Consume
As you level up, you will gain new abilities and get closer to the core rotation. We recommend following this ability priority as they become available:
Mythic+ Tips
Use
Void Surge and
Sigil of Misery to interrupt casts and crowd-control groups of enemies.
You can use
Shift to gather void shards more efficiently and quickly. Try to use this ability as often as possible, since the number of shards you collect directly affects the amount of damage you deal.
Darkness grants the group full immunity to incoming damage (for a group of 5 players). Be sure to use this ability during powerful mob or boss abilities aimed at group members. It also lets you skip some boss mechanics in dungeons, but this requires coordinated effort from all players.
