Frost Death Knight (FDK) is a melee fighter that can wield either a single two-handed weapon or dual one-handed weapons. The class mechanic is built around some abilities generating a resource and others spending it, so it is a perfect fit for players who enjoy following a strict rotation to squeeze out maximum efficiency from their character.
Don't forget to explore our class pages, where not only the best items in the slot are available, but also other alternatives for any class, spec or situation:
From the very first level you will already have damage-dealing abilities at your disposal. Your main abilities in the early levels will be
Frost Strike and
Death Strike. As you level up, you will unlock new abilities and get closer to the core rotation. We recommend sticking to the ability priority from the rotation section.
If your group has few classes that can interrupt spells, or you plan to fight large packs of casting mobs, definitely pick up the talent
Cold Thirst. When you interrupt a spell you gain 10 Runic Power and reduce the cooldown of your interrupt by 3 seconds, which lets you interrupt dangerous enemy spells more often.
Pick up the talent
Asphyxiate in case your group lacks or has insufficient crowd-control effects. With this ability you can stun a target for 5 seconds, preventing it from casting dangerous spells.
Try to use the ability
Death Grip as often as possible on mobs that constantly cast spells and do not move. It will interrupt the cast and pull the annoying mob to you.
