This is a tank whose primary stat is Strength. It does not use a shield, wielding a two-handed sword as a weapon. The main mechanic of this class is negating incoming damage, allowing it to survive even the toughest situations and be completely independent from allied healers.
Don't forget to explore our class pages, where not only the best items in the slot are available, but also other alternatives for any class, spec or situation:
Your main healing ability will be available from level one. Make sure to use
Death Strike to restore your health during combat. At early levels this will be sufficient for comfortable combat.
As you level up, you will gain new abilities. We recommend following the ability priority from the rotation section.
If your group has few classes capable of interrupting spells, or you plan to fight many mobs that cast spells, be sure to take the
Cold Thirst talent. When interrupting abilities you will gain 10 Runic Power, and the cooldown of the ability will be reduced by 3 seconds, allowing you to interrupt dangerous enemy spells more often.
Take the
Asphyxiate talent if your group lacks crowd control effects. With this ability you can stun a target for 5 seconds, preventing it from casting dangerous spells.
If the dungeon bosses or mobs frequently use multi-target magical curses, you can take the
Unyielding Will talent. With this talent you can remove all negative magical effects from yourself with
Anti-Magic Shell. Choosing this talent increases the cooldown of
Anti-Magic Shell by 20 seconds. Use it only when there is a strong need to remove magical effects.
Try to use
Death Grip as often as possible on mobs that continuously cast spells and do not move. This ability will interrupt the spell cast and pull the annoying mob to you.
